Just Another Guy: if you suspend a process, does it start exactly where it finished with no errors?
i found the option on windows 7, if i was to do it on just say 3ds max in the middle of a render, would it resume exactly where it stopped?
also if firefox was downloading something, would the download freeze, letting you focus your internet on something else, then continue as soon as you unsuspend it?

I can’t test this to verify it, but I’m assuming that the ‘suspend’ is similar to ‘cancel’. If that is the case, NO, it will not simply halt the process and then pick it back up. It will stop it completely – and you would have to start over again.
Another issue you are facing is that you seem to be talking about 2 different processes run by 2 different programs. So they may well work in 2 totally different ways, depending on how each programmer wants to interpret the concept of ‘suspend’.
