How come my computer says this when I try to play Runescape?

.: How come my computer says this when I try to play Runescape?
Microsoft Visual c++ Runtime Library runtime error! Abnormal program termination. Don’t tell me Runescape is lame or something because I don’t care, I like to play it and it’s something to do when I’m bored. Oh and how do I fix it?

This means some of the code for the game is broken/corrupted, or another program you are running is corrupting the code for the runescape applet to run.

All of a sudden last few days after logging into Comcast E-Mail via IE it says IE encountered a problem?

Vintage Music: All of a sudden last few days after logging into Comcast E-Mail via IE it says IE encountered a problem?
I have no problem when using Firefox. Internet Explorer says Error Signiture and this is right after it accepts my sign in with Comcast. So I have to close everything down each time. What to do?

maybe you could try adding comcast to your “trusted zone”
error signature might have something to do with the certificate
good luck

heres some clicks
– click tools
– click internet options
– click click content and clear the certificates

put comcast in the trusted zone

– click tools
– click options (or internet options)
– click security
– turn the slider down to the very lowest (remember the slider level before you change it)
– ie will give you a warning that its a bad idea, but click ok anyway
– close ie
– open ie back up
– go to comcast and login, hopefully it works
– if it works, the click Tools
– click internet options
– click security
– click the green checkmark
– click sites
– “add” comcast to your trusted sites
– click OK
– click tools
-click internet options
– turn your slider back to where it was before.
– shut down ie and open it back up
– hopefully ie will just work now.

When a page loads with an error it could be either of two things.

1) something is wrong with your computer.
2) something is wrong with the server.

Some simple ways to try to fix this problem

1) Refresh the page. Try refreshing the page and see if the error fixes itself.
2) If refreshing doesn’t help then close the browser and reopen it again, and try again.
3) Delete your browser cache. If you are using Internet Explorer, (If you are using IE 7 or 8 Hit the ALT key first) click Tools and Delete Browser History and delete everything. Then try the page again.
4) Another thing you can try is to restart your computer and open a web browser again to see if that helped
5) Use another Browser. If Internet Explorer isn’t working, then try Firefox, or Opera, or Safari, or even Google Chrome. This is if you have no browser preference. Google Chrome is the fastest. Firefox is usually the most consistent.
6) If flash player doesn’t install then go to control panel, and uninstall programs, and uninstall flash player if it is there, and try installing it again

Have you tried clearing your cache and cookies in your browser settings? Your ISP may have some issues.
Another possibility is if you’re behind a firewall or are using internet security beyond virus and spam filters. Sometimes a firewall will interfere with flash embeds. If clearing cache and cookies doesn’t work, try turning off some of the extra security functions. Zone Alarm, while a great firewall, is no notorious for blocking any kind of mobile code when a person sets high security settings in advanced mode.

Deleting your internet cache:

Internet Explorer 7:
1. From the Tools menu in the upper right, select Delete Browsing History.
2. Next to “Temporary Internet Files”, click Delete files… .
3. To delete your cookies, click Delete Cookies.
4. Click Close, and then click OK to exit.

Internet Explorer 8:
1. From the Safety menu in the upper right, click Delete Browsing History… .
2. Deselect (i.e., uncheck) Preserve Favorites website data, and select (i.e., check) Temporary Internet files, Cookies, and History.
3. Click Delete.

Firefox 3 for Windows:
1. From the Tools menu, select Clear Private Data… , and then check Cache and Cookies.
2. Click Clear Private Data Now.

Firefox 3.5 for Windows
1. From the Tools menu, select Clear Recent History… .
2. From the Time range to clear: drop-down menu, select the desired range; to clear your entire cache, select Everything.
3. Click the down arrow next to “Details” to choose what history elements to clear (e.g., check Cookies to clear cookies). Click Clear Now.

Safari:
1. From the Safari menu, select Reset Safari… .
2. From the menu, only select Empty the cache and Remove all cookies, then press Reset.

Firefox 3.5 for Mac OS X:
1. From the Tools menu, select Clear Recent History… .
2. From the Time range to clear: drop-down menu, select the desired range; to clear your entire cache, select Everything.
3. Click the down arrow next to “Details” to choose what history elements to clear. Click Clear Now.

Firefox 3 for Mac OS X
1. In Firefox, from the Tools menu, select Clear Private Data.
2. Make sure Cache and Cookies are checked, and then click Clear Private Data Now.

Google Chrome:
1. Click the Tools menu. (the wrench in the upper-right corner)
2. Click Clear browsing data…
3. Check the boxes for the types of information you wish to delete.
— Clear browsing history
— Clear download history
— Empty the cache
— Delete cookies
— Clear saved passwords
You can also choose the period of time you wish to delete cached information using the Clear data from this period dropdown menu.
4. Click Clear Browsing Data when ready.

I’m trying to upload a photo to profile and it says error?

Sol: I’m trying to upload a photo to profile and it says error?
I’m tired of using this avatar, and I’d like to upload a photo of myself to my profile instead. When I click on the link to upload a photo, it says “an unexpected error occurred”. It’s done this for three days in a row when I’ve tried to upload. I’m wondering if this is a glitch that others are experiencing, or if it’s something to do with my browser, etc?

It’s possible that your cache is causing the problem, so clear that. This link has instructions: –//help.yahoo—/l/us/yahoo/games/troubleshooting/games-25.html

You may also want to update your Java and Flash, as Yahoo (and Yahoo Answers) run on those two things:
–//java—/en/
–//get.adobe—/flashplayer/

Make sure your browser is up-to-date — use a standard one like IE8 or the most recent version of FireFox.

Also, you may want to make the image SMALLER. I have found that trying to use large images often causes errors. Open the image in Paint (or any other type of image editing software), and using the Resize/Skew option, make the picture about 50% of its original size. It may seem small to you, but it will clear up a lot of issues when uploading (and cropping).

1. At the top of the Firefox window, click the Tools menu, and select Add-ons.
2. The Add-ons window will open. In the Add-ons window, click the Extensions panel.
3. A list of installed extensions will be displayed. If you see any extension that you did not install yourself, select it, and click Disable.
4. Above the list of extensions, click Restart Firefox.
5. If the error still occurs, try disabling a different extension.

How do I modify what is displayed when my browser says “This webpage is not available”?

The: How do I modify what is displayed when my browser says “This webpage is not available”?
There is really no easy way to explain what I am talking about. The only most people will understand is if I show them. I have attached a few links to screen shots of what I am going to try to explain. I prefer Firefox but I am open to using any web browser.

Firefox will actually give me the option to remove the messages my right click on it and selecting inspect element

Issue:
when “ads” or embedded ad pictures are displayed as a part of a web page I get an error message in the background that says something to the affect of page cannot be displayed.

Cause:
I am running a script on my Tomato Router that blocks ad sites on the network. This will allow all of the other page content to load but it blocks ads

What do I want to do?:
I want to modify the error message that the web browser displays and make it simply a white page with no text or pictures.

also I know that part of what i am looking (for firefox) for lives in chrome://global/skin/icons/warning-large.png

The browser that does a better job than Firefox is called Maxthon3. It is very informative, and you can instantly click websites that it displays and go to them instantly. I tried Firefox for several weeks, and I also found that it would not display certain web pages, so I download Maxthon3. You will find that when using Maxthon3 to view any youtube videos, the videos will play from beginning to end without stopping to load and buffer and buffer. Maxthon is really advanced for PC’s.
