Joseph: Why does firefox and Internet Explorer close when I open YouTube page?
They work fine for every other website. Firefox and IE were working earlier and now whenever I open it a message will pop up and say “(Internet Browser here) has encountered a problem and needs to close” you know the error report message. Anyone have a solution that will work now….and I am not going to download any crap you guys tell me too.

It is possible that you could have spyware. I would delete all Cookies, Cache, History, and anything that could be related to the browser saving anything.

Every time I try to open any chat room, a box that says “Internet Explorer / Mozilla Firefox has stopped working” pops up, then it closes the browser. It didn’t always do this, I used to be able to load chat rooms.

How do I fix it?

I can search the internet. I can read my emails. I can send attchments via email but, if I recive an attachment a box comes up and says there has been an error. When I hit okay the explore closes down. I have to reconnect. Is it my computer?

Get Firefox. nothing like this will ever happend again. I think you have spywate affecting IE or the attachment is corrupted.

Every day I get at least one problem on the Internet explorer that results in sending an error report to Microsoft. It’s so annoying because it closes all internet applications when this happens. Another thing, you cant eve view the browsing history so you can start again where you left off.

Yes, I get the same with IE7. In the middle of something it just pops up with the message, “Internet Explorer has encountered an error and must close” and poof it’s gone. I went to their website and got the run around.

The error message is this :THE instruction at 0x7c911e5a referenced memory at 0x00450041 .The memory could not be read.

After this comes up ,it closes internet explorer . I am running windows media xp professional and DO NOT have the original cd-rom disk. It was loaded by Best Buy.

I would like to try and fix this problem without upgrading to Internet Explorer 7…… I do not like the way it functions.

Any ideas ?

Had the same ongoing issues….switched to Mozilla Firefox and no more conflicts/problems. Wouldn’t go back to IE now for the world.

btw….do a Google – there is an issue with IE7 and XP – and the “fix” tends to wreak havoc with printer drivers.

I know the internet is connected it’s that I keep getting ‘Connection Failed’ or ‘Page Cannot Load’ error messages on both Firefox 3 and Internet Explorer. I’ve tried going to the command prompt page and doing the whole ip reset renew thing but that didn’t work either. What can I do? Remember I can’t connect so I cannot download anything from the net to help on that particular laptop.

If your laptop’s problems started after your Firefox was updated, then the best possible remedy would be to uninstall Firefox and then test your Internet Explorer to see if it is functioning again.Chances are that the upgrade was a corrupted file. If your IE is functioning, then download Firefox and install.

Its not a virus but your internet explorer error. I hate IE6 , IE7 AND IE8. Try mozilla firefox. If this wont resolve maybe your system has a error. Better fresh reformat.

I click them and it just pops with errors and stuff like the actaul thing opens as it would in ofline mode but it’s not in ofline mode. I would need to more about what operating system you’re using, which browser and version (Internet Explorer 8?, Firefox, Google Chrome, etc) in order to give you detailed advice but you can try doing a Google search for your browser type…for example IE8 error #XXX, and see what comes up. Or repost here with the error number and browser info and I’ll try to check back.

My internet explorer has been very aggrivating lately, It keeps shutting down at random for no reason with a “Internet explorer has encountered a problem and has to shut down” error, I’ve done a virus scan, and my computer does not have a virus.

Additional info, I’m on a Windows Vista 32bit computer, with all microsoft updates applied.

Which version of IE are you running? Try updating to IE 7 (preferably) or IE 8 RC1 if you haven’t already.

Consider switching to Firefox, or another browser like Opera.
