bineverlast: How to enable registry value for firefox?
I got attacked by a virus recently. Although I got rid of the virus, it managed to disable my task manager, firefox, and live update for my anti-virus softwares (Norton, Ad-aware, Spy-emergency).
Following online instructions, I already re-enabled Task Manager. But still haven’t fix the other two because I couldn’t find aything through Google.
It would be great of someone can give me instruction. =D.
Thank you!

Your computer might be a victim of the Sality virus which wreck havoc on your executable files. Try first –//free.grisoft—/ww.virus-removal… to remove the Sality virus. Once it is run in Safe Mode, it can cure the all executable files (Firefox, Norton, Ad-Aware, Spy-emergency) and would enable their respective usage like before. The Sality removal tool consists of three files thus download the following three files ( rmsality.exe, rmsality.nt, rmsality.dos) and save it in a floppy disk or USB and run the rmsality.exe file in SAFE MODE.
Otherwise, you have to re-install Firefox, Norton, Ad-Aware, Spy-emergency separately using a virus-free copy. Doing so would overwrite all the damaged executables and rebuild the registry. With a corrupted registry, it would likely be that you could reinstall these applications over an existing installation, thus no need to uninstall them. If the installation fails, however, with an error message claiming that you need to uninstall an application first prior to installation of the fresh copy of the software, try using a MSIFix [msicuu], refer to –//support.microsoft—/kb/290301 for its usage, or download it from –//——cellar—/winxp/MSIfix.htm.
or a Registry Cleaner, such as CCleaner

This is a portable version, just extract to a USB, then click on CCleaner.exe. Click on Registry which should bring you to Registry Integrity. Click on Registry Integrity which would remove all the checkmarks for the selection below, then select “Missing Shared DLLs, Application, Application Paths, Installer, Obsolete Software” Then click on “Scan for Issues” button below. This should clear up the non-existent direct link libraries.
