.: Why is firefox suddenly unable to connect to certain webpages?
It just started today. For some reason, certain web sites get the “unable to connect” error, and these are sites that have worked before. I downloaded the new firefox a few days ago, but this just started today. Why is that? How do I fix it?
I’ve cleared cookies and no, the site is not down. It does this for multiple sites.
also, i turned off firewall and reset firefox but it still doesn’t work.

Try to clear up cookies and your browsing history. If that doesn’t work try typing on google: “is my site down or is it just me” and verify if that site is offline or not.

It used to load the pages with no problem. However, I turned my computer on this week and it said it had recovered from a serious error and ever since, I have been unable to load any secure webpages. All other webpages load just fine. I’m not that computer savvy and only tried checking the settings as suggested when the error occurred, but I haven’t had any luck fixing the problem.

download Mozilla Firefox. It’s much faster and safer. When you install it, it will copy your favorites so you won’t lose anything.

I recently started learnin how to design websites using XHTML and CSS. I always validate my webpages at the W3C validation site, but I still find it extremely difficult to get my webpages to look the same on FireFox and Internet Explorer.

First of all, neither browser complies with all web standards, so IE is worse. Second, there may be user CSS differences that cause different appearances, without any error in rendering.

As long as it looks okay in both, I wouldn’t worry. It’s unreasonable to expect them to render identically.
